In addition
to her work as a visual artist, Onça is also the director
and founder of the tribal bellydance ensemble, Baraka
Mundi. Based in Western North Carolina, the troupe combines
live music, dance, myth, and storytelling to educate, entertain,
and enchant.
Onça is
also the co-director of the Future of Tradition Center for Folkloric
Arts, along with her husband and fellow folk-arts teacher Draven
Arcane. The center provides space for the perpetuation of global
traditions of art, movement, and multicultural spiritual practice.
