Logos
is the name I’ve been performing and publishing
music under for the past several years. Logos is an
experiment in blending human voices with synthesized
sounds to create techno-organic soundscapes. The name
is a reminder of the creative power of sound and intention.
The Christian mystic St. John wrote, “In the
Beginning was the Word (“Logos”) and the
Word was with God and the Word was God.” This
is one of the most central mysteries of Western Civilization,
and it has many parallels in cultures throughout the
world. Similarly, many aspects of modern science,
including the field of cymatics and the findings of
quantum physicists seem to indicate that both sound
and consciousness have a direct affect on the physical
structure of reality. What is the Word, if not consciousness
coalesced into sound? I call myself Logos when I create
with sound to remind myself that I am a tool in the
hands of the Creator, and at the same time, I am a
part of the Creation itself, and hence part of the
totality from which all being flows.
