I
grew up in the mountains of North Carolina, where I spent
much of my childhood exploring the rivers, woods, and other
natural surroundings. These experiences gave me a deep connection
to the earth, whose organic forms influence and are used structurally
in my creations of metal and stone. One of my main inspirations
was my grandmother Kitty Couch, who was herself a well-respected
sculptor and teacher.
I
have studied metals since the late 1990's and started Intentional
Adornments in 2002. I received an associates degree in jewelry
from the HCC Professional Crafts Program in 2003 and have
taken several courses at the Penland School of Craft. I currently
reside in Asheville, NC and continue to develop my art.
